Simon Coley
A brand and creative direction practice in Auckland. Thirty years, three industries, one argument: a purposeful, design-led strategy delivers disproportionate advantage.
Thirty years across three industries — energy, produce, and consumer goods — using ethics and design as an edge rather than a marketing layer. Powershop reinvented how New Zealanders buy electricity. All Good put the country's first Fairtrade bananas, and later its first oat milk, on supermarket shelves. Karma Drinks turned a soft drink into a globally distributed brand whose foundation funds schools and infrastructure in Sierra Leone.
The argument across all three: a purposeful, design-led strategy delivers disproportionate advantage — shaping culture, markets, and lasting impact. Now consulting through Coley Studio on brand strategy, naming, positioning, and the formative work that sets a venture's direction — with founders, leadership teams, and the occasional editor.
Earlier: Creative Director at Agency.com London. Creative Lead at Viant. Member of the founding team at Powershop. Co-founder of All Good Bananas. Co-founder and Creative Director of Karma Drinks.
Editorial — Simon's optional fill: a final paragraph or two on what you're working on now, who you want to hear from, or the kinds of projects you take. The bio above is past-tense; one forward-looking paragraph would let the page double as a current invitation.
